The river Kretuona (the lake Zeimenis tributary Svencioniai district)

The river Kretuona flows in Svencionys and Ignalina districts, the lake Zeimenis tributary.

Length of the river 26 km, the basin area 165 km ². The source at Matukai village, 8 km north from Svencionys town. Flows to the west through the lakes Ilgis, Raksteliai, Kretuonykstis and Kretuonas. Flows into the lake Zeimenis at Pakretuone village. Average gradient 180 cm / km. Average rated discharge upstream of the lake Kretuonykstis 0.70 m³/s, at the mouth 1.44 m³/s.

7.0 The Kretuona flows out from the northwest bay of the lake Kretuonyktis. Area of the lake 57 ha, max depth 3 m, average depth 1.6 m. Average gradient to the lake Kretuonas 46 cm/km. Current calm. At the river meadows. In some places the riverbed channeled, width 2-4 m.

3.5 The Kretuona flows into the lake Kretuonas. Area of the lake 880 ha, max depth 3 m, average depth 5.2 m. 6 islands (total area 25.5 ha).

2.3 The Kretuona flows out from northwest corner of the lake Kretuonas. Average gradient to the lake Zeimenis 313 cm/km. The river flows through the forest, in the riverbed strainers, fallen trees, shallow small rapids. Average width of the river 5 m.
